Tell me the best place you’ve heard a diminished chord *
Anyway, one of my favourite tunes is ‘Beatriz’ by Chico Buarque, there are some splendid diminished chords in that. Also the intro to Bill Evans’s version of ‘Spring is Here’ is great. Obviously is not just ‘the chord’, but all of the stuff that leads to it, the context and whatnot, but you know what I mean.
* (You don’t win a prize for saying, ‘Ronnie Scott’s, 1983’. I will not tolerate humour of ANY kind. And that would not be a funny thing to say. And I already said it, so that’s sort of rained on your bonfire of laughs, eh? Now who’s laughing? Eh? Ha!)
Hot 8 Brass do a brilliant Ghost Town. They do most things brilliantly to be fair.
Love that track! Thanks, Stuart.
Ghost Town by The Specials, heavily features diminished chords, not only a great pop song but also meaninful and the best thing about Coventry, even better than naked women on horseback.
this has got to be the sound of music…’the hills are alive…etc’ is all bright major 6/9 happiness and then the nazis arrive with a dim chord on ‘music’.
Yeah, crazy – and he _sings_ on “At the edge” !!
WooooooooooooooooW
That’s insane. Holdsworth? Really?
