Point out interesting bits.
Tell tall stories.
You can go as far as you like, but remember you’re taking them on this particular tour.

quite a profound suggestion! i think this applies especially to playing originals, where the listener is in unfamiliar territory.
Love wee bits of advice like this the most, outside the box and it really works.
